Hi, I’m Vibha
My journey into UX is little unconventional. It started back in 2017, when I spent the better part of the year solo traveling. I went from the noisy, bustling streets of Asia to backpacking the serene landscape of New Zealand. It was the best adventure of my life so far. Each day, I woke up hungry to explore, expand my perspectives, and build relationships with my surroundings.
In those months, I had some time to reflect on the path I was going along, about the medium I wanted to design for, and about the type of people I wanted to work with. During the introspection, it became clear to me that I enjoy building relationships, exploring new perspectives, and building something meaningful.
Why the transition to UX? I've always enjoyed exercising both the right and left side of my brain, along the way I discovered the field of UX which let's me spark both creative and analytical neurons. Coming from a strong customer service and event marketing background, I recognize the importance of leveraging both quantitate and qualitative insights to make strategic design decisions.
My travels gave me the confidence in having an active role in seeking new perspectives and an appreciation for elevating relationships. I approach projects with a thirst of discovering user pain points by acknowledging their frustrations and recognizing their needs. I believe that advocating as the voice of the user improves functionality and enjoyment.
When I’m not behind a screen, I enjoy honing my photography skills and exploring new places. Fresh air and time outdoors re-energizes me. I enjoy creating, most recently I am learning wood working at the local community center.
