Helium 10’s legacy tool, Listing Analyzer offers an analysis of Amazon product ID (ASIN) that Amazon sellers use to quickly identify ways in which they can improve the quality of their product listing.

I redesigned the experience by creating an easy to use tool with a clean interface to drive engagement amongst Helium 10’s existing customers.

Amazon sellers are interested in understanding how a specific product listing compares with other listings. They’re interested in sales and market share data that are shown on their Amazon seller account or collected throughout the Helium 10 suite. They look at pricing, reviews, sales overview, category or subcategory ranks, copy or media breakdown, keyword analysis, competitor insights - any other key metrics they think is helpful, in a single page. This allows them to easily identify areas where a listing is doing well and where it can improve.

I defined the design direction for the redesign efforts. I was responsible for the end to end development of the entire rewrite from the updated search experience, results view, and some marketing materials. After understanding the technical environment of the product, I created a hypothesis for the search and results views. After quick user testing, I worked with the technical teams to get better results and deliver the MVP in time for Helium 10’s July webinar.

Outcome

The redesign simplified how information was entered and digested. We successfully increased user retention across our key customer base and increased overall customer engagement by 20% over 5 months. This feature was a key driver in the Product team’s goal of increasing overall stickiness of user retention across the Helium 10 platform.

Search Experience

Refreshed search experience with established UX patterns guide the user on the home screen. It now has a landing page where users are guided through the steps to perform a search. No need to guess how many ASINs can be entered or how products are compared. To begin, enter a main ASIN. Are you interested in adding competitor information next? An optional second step allows advanced search criteria to be selected or entered.
